Albert Pujols slammed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Dan Wheeler closed it out
for Philadelphia at Coors Field as the streaking Philadelphia Phantoms beat
the floundering Riverton Wolverines 11 to 10.
Pujols was really in 'the zone'. He blasted a two-run home run in the 4th
inning and clubbed a three-run home run (his 16th of the season) in the 5th
inning. Riverton made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push
the needed runs across.
Scott Olsen(6-3) picked up the victory, allowing 7 runs in 5 innings. Wheeler
earned his 2nd save. Jason Marquis(2-5) was the losing pitcher. He served
up 4 gopher balls in 4 and 1/3 innings.
With the win, Philadelphia continued their winning ways; their streak now
stands at 9 games and counting. 'It seems we can't lose these days', George
Gouvas volunteered after the game. Then after a moment to reflect he
lamented, 'Oh great! Now I've gone and jinxed us!'
