Dan Uggla had 4 hits at Progressive Field as the Gaspee Fire beat the Riverton
Wolverines by the count of 14 to 5.
Uggla punished Riverton with his bat. He stroked a single in the 1st inning,
doubled bringing in a run in the 2nd inning, singled which plated a run in
the 3rd inning and launched a Grand Slam homerun (his 8th of the season) in
the 6th inning. Gaspee finished with 18 hits while Riverton ended up with
10.
Bronson Arroyo(2-5) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 7 innings. Jason
Marquis(2-5) was given the loss. He was knocked around by Gaspee, allowing
13 hits and 3 walks in 4 innings.
Gaspee now has a record of 12-30. Riverton can't seem to snap out of their
recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 1-9 record over the last couple
weeks.
