The Algonquin Indians defeated the slumping Riverton Wolverines by a score of
10 to 6 at Ameriquest Field.
In the bottom of the 7th inning Algonquin scored 3 runs with the help of 4
hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Magglio Ordonez who brought the
crowd to their feet when he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run
(his 8th of the season). Algonquin had 15 hits for the game and Riverton had
10.
Matt Thornton(2-1) went 3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Garrett
Mock(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief. He was hit hard and gave up 7
hits and 2 walks in 2 innings.
Algonquin continued their winning ways, with their streak now at 6 games and
counting.
