Catcher Ivan Rodriguez lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and Jair Jurrjens
completed the game without help from the bullpen at Minute Maid Park as the
Rockland Reds won a thriller over the slumping Riverton Wolverines in, 6 to
4.
 
Rockland came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs on 2
hits.  Rodriguez opened up the inning nicely when he slapped a one-base hit.
Michael Young came next and he reached on an error.  Young then bombed a
two-run dinger (his 9th of the season) resulting in an exciting win for
Rockland and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans.  Rockland
and Riverton each finished the afternoon with 9 hits.  
 
The victory went to Jurrjens(7-5) who went the distance allowing 4 runs. The
losing pitcher was Pedro Feliciano(0-2) in relief.  By giving up 2 runs in
1/3 of an inning his ERA increased from 3.18 to 6.00.  
 
Rockland continued their winnings ways improving their record to a division
leading 50-42.  They are 8-2 in their last ten games.  Thomas Fischer was
unhappy with his club's recent performance.  'We can't keep losing games' he
said.  'It gets to be embarrassing after a while.'
