In a close game the Rockland Reds tallied 4 runs in the 4th inning and got by
the struggling Riverton Wolverines by the score of 9 to 7.
Rockland came up with 4 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning with the help of
5 hits. They would hold up as the winning runs. Rockland had 16 hits
overall, while Riverton had 9.
Edwin Jackson(5-6) got the win allowing 7 runs in 6 innings. Joe Nathan earned
the save, his 12th. The losing pitcher was Jon Garland(0-4). He allowed
Rockland 8 runs in 6 innings of work.
'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his
best stuff,' Eddie Fudge said after the game. 'Jackson did not have command
of his pitches most of the afternoon, but he proved he really knew how to
pitch!'
