Evan Longoria hit a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Riverton Wolverines outscored
the Philadelphia Phantoms 4 to 2.
Riverton drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning as
they scored 2 runs on 2 base hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by
Longoria who silenced Angels Stadium as he doubled plating two runs. The
Philadelphia offense proved no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.
Jon Garland(1-4) went 7 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. Garland got
relief help from Robinson Tejeda who gained credit for his 1st save. Max
Scherzer(4-4) was the losing pitcher.
When questioned, Thomas Fischer remarked, 'It's been a while since a win felt
this good - heck, it's been a while since we had a win period!'
